Dr Alexander Serb 

  • Principal research fellow.
  • Board member of MINDS CDT and NTAI theme lead.
  • Member of the Zepler Institute EDI committee.

Dr Serb is a senior member of the Electronic Materials and Devices Group; he is currently a Principal Research Fellow, a Board member of MINDS CDT and the NTAI theme lead.

Dr Serb graduated with a 1st class Meng in Biomedical engineering from Imperial College London before completing his PhD in CMOS Optoelectronics. He then moved to the University of Southampton as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow. Dr Serb specialises in AI Mathematics and algorithmics, hardware development and emerging technologies for hardware.

As well as his own research, Dr Serb supervises both PhD and MSc students, is the co-founder of ArC Instruments and has filed three patents on memristive biosensors.

Dr Serb is a senior member of the IEEE and member of IET as well as a member of the ISCAS NSA and SS technical committees.

Dr Serb is also a keen linguistics speaking five languages and most recently learning Japanese.
