Dr Seyed Mohammad Abokhamis Mousavi received MSc. in Electrical–Electronics Engineering from Amirkabir university of technology before moving to Southampton where he received MSc. and PhD degrees from Optoelectronics Research Centre, Southampton, UK. His PhD degree research has focused on the design and modelling of new hollow core fibres and nonlinear optical effects in gas-filled hollow core fibres. In 2018, he started a new role as Research Fellow in Optoelectronics Research Centre, Southampton, U.K., where his research focuses on the design and studying new hollow core fibres for special application.

  • Design and modelling hollow core fibres for special applications (polarization maintaining, sensing application, modal control, etc).
  • Nonlinear optics: pulse compression and Raman Generation in gas filed fibres, solution generation, etc.
  • Coherent control on metamaterials
  • Fibre-based Optical Devices and Tapers
  • Quantum entangled photon generation in silicon.
