Dr Hong received his PhD degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2018. In September 2018, he joined the Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC), University of Southampton, as a Research Fellow. He was a visiting researcher at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, The University of Melbourne, from December 2017 to May 2018. His research interests include MIMO/OFDM-based optical wireless communications and networking, and optical/digital signal processing, high-speed optical fibre transmission, ultra-wideband WDM transmission and hollow-core fibre transmission. Dr Hong is a reviewer for various journals, including Optics Express, Optics Letters, IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, IEEE Transactions on Communications, Journal of Lightwave Technology, IEEE Access, IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, and IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, etc.
